History
The District and Sessions Court, Bidar is located in the prime area of the city.The court building is declared as heritage building which was constructed during the period of erstwhile Nizam of Hyderabad i.e in the year 1328 Fasli which is corresponding to 1938 A.D. Before reorganization of the states during 1956, the Bidar district comprised of 13 talukas. After re-organization, the number of taluks reduced to five. The names of the Taluks are Aurad, Basavkalyan, Bhalki, Bidar and Humanabad. Bidar Judicial unit consist of following courts and in the year 2017, three new taluks like Hulasoor, Chitaguppa and Kamalnagar were added to Bidar district.

Jurisdiction
Present day Bidar covering an expanse of 5448 square kilometers of land lies between 17 o 35 !! and 18o 25!! North latitudes and 760 42!! minutes and 770 39!! east longitudes, with the districts of Nizamabad and Medak in Andhra Pradesh on the East and the districts of Nanded and Osmanabad in Maharashtra on the west. On the south lies the district of Gulbarga of Karnataka. This central position in the Deccan had for long imparted to Bidar, the pre-eminent position in the history of the Deccan though to-day it presents a picture of centuries of neglect and ruin.
